Why animals are actually more emotional than people ...

Sentience is not just in the brain.  It's a whole-body function.  Emotions and sensory stimulus from the right brain and limbic region actually control the nervous system and prompt all physiological actions in the body! 

That means ALL living things, including plants, are sentient: 

Let's break it down into science: 

The brain's left hemisphere controls logic and rationale.

Left brain/intelligence (IQ) processes 100 thoughts per second.

The right-brain and limbic brain hemispheres process your senses, feelings, how you relate, and interact (EQ).  Right-brain function is critical in how you process the world, retain memories, and create connection.  It is paramount to survival

The right brain processes 1200 thoughts per second.  It is 120 times more powerful and influential than your logical brain!    

So, while humans think we are rational, our right brain (emotions) actually dictates 97% of our behavior!

Humans mistakenly believe logic and intelligence makes us superior.  In reality, it makes us LESS intelligent than other species!  Our ability to create communities and work co-operatively is how we have survived  

Sensory and emotional responses are critical to all life on the planet.  The frequencies generated by emotions transit the nervous system, prompting the release of chemical proteins called neuropeptides (NP's).  NP's govern all of your body functions.  Without emotions you can't function!

For example, you feel fear --> Fear rushes through your nervous system --> Instantly, your nervous system prompts the releases of adrenaline, cortisol and norepinephrine --> Your heart rate instantly speeds up.  Your muscles tense.  Pupils dilate.  Your rational brain stops processing and you go into instinctual sensory response

The link between sensory/emotional stimulus and autonomic body function is proof that all living things are sentient.  If it has a nervous system, it innately has to be sentient!  Yes ... even insects, plants and trees are sentient!      

Animals rely entirely on their senses for survival.  So, animals are naturally right-brain dominant. 

They 'feel' their way through the world, sniffing, seeing, tasting, touching, listening, sensing.   

This means animals are actually MORE sentient than humans, who routinely block out sensory stimulus and suppress feelings with analysis and logic!

Science has now proven that balancing IQ with EQ increases intelligence more than IQ alone.  In fact, rational people are not as intelligent as compassionate people.  Women are generally more intelligent than men.  (Intelligence is passed on through your mother's genes--NOT your father's! )  Einstein's genius derived from being right brain/left brain balanced!  And he was very clear in stating this
